Meet Attorney Faye M. Lyon
Attorney Faye M. Lyon was born in and has been a life-long resident of Rockford. She has been practicing law since 1987, focusing and specializing in the area of family law, which not only encompasses dissolution of marriage or divorce work, allocation of parental responsibilities (formerly known as custody) and child support, but also includes paternity, wills, trusts, probate, guardianships, and real estate.
Attorney Lyon is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Winnebago County Bar Association, and the Women’s Bar Association, having served as President from
1991-1993.
As a member of the Winnebago County Bar Association, she is involved with the Family Law Section, serving as the Chairman of the Facilitation Committee, as well as sitting on other sections, such as Children’s Advocacy, Estate Section, and Real Estate Section.
Outside of her law practice, she has served the community in such civic organizations as Loves Park Rotary, YWCA Women’s Leadership Luncheon, and the MILL, serving as President for two years. Attorney Lyon was appointed by President Reagan to serve as a Member of the Illinois State Advisory Committee for the United States Civil Rights Commission for ten years, serving as Chairman of that Committee from 1990 through 1994. She also served until 2016 as a Winnebago County Board Member for District 1.
